Ethan Greenley is a Recycled Water Foreman at Cabot. However, like many others who reside in northeast Pennsylvania, Ethan grew up farming.
Because of this, Ethan was able to give us his perspective on the local agricultural scene since natural gas has come around. His explanation of today’s farming industry in the region can be summed up in one word: Refreshing.
Ethan stresses how natural gas has allowed farmers to pursue their passion, whether it be for business or just as a hobby. “Being that the gas industry has come back in here, it’s refreshing to see the farmers get a second chance, a breath of fresh air, and some relief.”
In addition to the local farming industry, Ethan tells us about the other opportunities in the region that have allowed people to remain local after graduation.
Years ago, while many folks wanted to stay in the community, it was hard to find steady work. “If you weren’t a farmer, a logger, something to do with stone, or going to P&G, you were limited with your options,” Ethan explained.
Now, young people can confidently remain knowing they have the opportunity to make a living in the same community they were raised in.
