This year will mark the fourth year in a row that Cabot has made a $25,000 to first responders in Susquehanna County – bringing the total amount to $100,000. Montrose United Fire Company just sent us a letter about how their 2011 grant money for equipment has helped them to save lives.

In 2011, the United Fire Company received a grant to go towards the purchase of rope rescue equipment. Below is the letter from the Officers and Members of The United Fire Company about one scenario where the rope rescue gear helped to save a life. You can click on the image below to enlarge it.

Thanks to the great men and women at Montrose United Fire Company for sharing this story – it’s great to know that when there is an incident, they have the proper equipment for the job.

Cabot will once again be giving out $25,000 to fire companies in need of equipment/tools to better do their jobs.
