As I sit here at the beginning of my second week, I consider myself blessed to be surrounded by such a professional atmosphere at this stage in my collegiate career.  My name is Andrew Dickson and in several short months, I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Robert Morris University .  Additionally in this time-frame, I have been hired as the newest External Affairs Intern at Cabot Oil & Gas.During my time at RMU, I have written for RMU’s newspaper, The Sentry; joined RMU’s chapter for the PRSSA and have had my poetry featured in Rune, RMU’s Literary Magazine.  I have presented a campaign I led for the Pittsburgh Center of Autism at an undergraduate research conference.  In-between all this, I was on the internet blogging like the world was going to end on December 21.It started slowly and with great intimidation.  I began a WordPress with the intention to catalogue some of my philosophical rants and nature-based photography; I’ve had the site for a little over a year now.   While it’s seen modest traffic, this WordPress inspired me to start other blogs for other creative endeavors.  I started a tumblr to archive my music criticism, which ultimately led to me writing for ElectroJams.com.  Following up this tumblr was another hurdle – sharing my long-winded, punctuation-less poetry with the world-wide web (and overcoming self-consciousness in the process).  In the last three months, I’ve started a third tumblr (that’s blog #4 if you’re counting) with a focus on loopable music.  My next step is applying what I’ve learned on the creative front to the corporate setting. When I’m not on the internet, in college or working, I like to stay active.  I love hiking, biking and camping.  If there’s an amusement park in a 100-mile radius, you can expect to see me there in the summertime.  I love music of all sorts and if you are trying to have a very nerdy discussion, feel free to ask me “What have you been listening to lately?”Even though this is my second week at Cabot, George, Brittany and Bill have been fantastic about making me feel a part of the Cabot family.  I will be contributing to Well Said for the duration of my internship and look forward to learning as much as possible, in addition to sharing what I learn on this very blog.
