Becca Myers, External Affairs Specialist at Coterra Energy, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau (NMFLB) Foundation. The NMFLB Foundation is a nonprofit organization that exists to support education and research. Its work aims to increase the conservation of natural resources, promote the general preservation of the environment, and seek improvements in agriculture, eradication of livestock diseases, and a better understanding of local government and its effect on agriculture.
The hallmark program of the NMFLB Foundation is New Mexico Agriculture in the Classroom (NMAITC). This initiative focuses on informing the public, particularly K-12 students, and educators, about the significance of agriculture. With a shift in population towards urban areas and a lack of understanding about food production processes, NMAITC aims to combat misconceptions and misinformation by providing educational resources to teachers in New Mexico.
NMAITC offers a wealth of free resources, including:
- In-Classroom Presentations
- Teacher Workshops
- Agricultural Literacy Curriculum
- Remote Learning Lessons
- Classroom Lesson Plans
- Awards & Grants
- Educational events

This appointment builds upon Coterra Energy’s financial commitment to the organization, and to our C.A.V.E. pillars, sitting squarely in the agriculture and education nexus. It is an honor to support the work of the NMFLB Foundation and NMAITC, as they instill in students an appreciation for farmers and ranchers while highlighting agriculture’s vital role in everyday life, ultimately shaping informed consumers and voters critical to the nation’s future.
