As part of an initiative to be thankful and truly recognize all of the benefits of natural gas that we encounter every day, several companies and individuals took to Twitter last month to discuss NatGasNovember. Represented as a hashtag (#NatGasNovember) the campaign took a look at just a few of the ways our lives are shaped by this natural resource.

When we talk about uses of natural gas, odds are that some of the first things you will think about are home-heating, electric generation, or maybe even about Cabot’s natural gas-powered fleet. But natural gas is more than that.
On the eastern side of Pennsylvania, the Marcellus produces what is called “dry gas” which means that the gas is basically pipeline quality when it comes out of the ground, minus some extra water. But on the western side, the natural gas (methane or CH4) can also include other hydrocarbons such as ethane, propane or butane. These hydrocarbons can be separated and then used to manufacture many other products, as highlighted in this MSC video.
