At Coterra, we firmly believe in the strength of community and the significance of giving back to the institutions and causes that matter most. Our commitment to supporting education has led us to establish impactful partnerships with New Mexico State University (NMSU) across various areas and events. In August, we had the distinct privilege of collaborating with esteemed organizations, including the NMSU College of Agriculture, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences, the Sam Steel Society, and the New Mexico Department of Agriculture, to bring freshly roasted green chile to the Washington DC area. This remarkable event, aptly named “The Fix, An Aggie Chile Roast,” allowed NMSU alumni and friends to come together, enjoy the official aroma of New Mexico, and satisfy their green chile cravings. At the same time, the event raised money for scholarships to support NMSU Aggies. Coterra was honored to stand as a proud partner in this unique event.

The evening preceding “The Fix,” Coterra took the initiative of sponsoring a Happy Hour for NMSU alumni in the greater D.C. area. This gathering provided a unique opportunity for guests to mingle over cocktails and engage with prominent New Mexico organizations such as the New Mexico Department of Agriculture, the Sam Steel Society, the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau, and NMSU. The Coterra team had the chance to engage these stakeholders and alumni, sharing more about the work that Coterra does in the field and in communities. A brief program during this event featured remarks from Jennifer Ryder Fox, Associate Dean Donald Conner, and Secretary Jeff Witte.

At Coterra, we know that hands-on involvement and volunteering create meaningful impact. During “The Fix” chile roast, Coterra team members rolled up their sleeves to contribute their time and effort to ensure the event’s success. Our team played an active role in the sale and fire-roasting of the fresh green chile, ensuring that every “displaced New Mexican”, got to fill their freezer with a taste of home. It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to connect with the NMSU community and immerse ourselves in a true Aggie experience.

As the state’s distinguished land grant university, NMSU plays an instrumental role in shaping the future of vital sectors, particularly education and agriculture. Supporting NMSU aligns seamlessly with Coterra’s core values and pillars of engagement. Coterra’s sponsorship of the Happy Hour and participation in “The Fix” chile roast is one demonstration of our unwavering commitment to the community and our core values of education and agriculture. We take immense pride in standing alongside New Mexico State University, its dedicated alumni, and all those who share our belief in enriching lives and communities.

As we raise our glasses in celebration of the resounding success of these events, we look forward with anticipation to supporting The Fix when it returns to the greater D.C. area next year. Together, we can continue to nurture the growth of education and agriculture for generations to come. Cheers!
