Southern New Mexico Giving Day is an annual event hosted by the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico in Las Cruces. It celebrates the spirit of philanthropy and community support, bringing together local nonprofits, businesses, and residents to make a significant impact through collective giving. While historically an in-person event, it has recently shifted to a virtual platform and was hosted on April 26th. This year, Coterra Energy played a pivotal role in enhancing the success of this event, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to community development and support. 

Coterra Energy’s contributions to Southern New Mexico Giving Day were multifarious and substantial. We sponsored several key prize categories designated to incentivize and reward nonprofits for their fundraising efforts and social media engagement. Among these were the Pre-Giving Early Donor prizes, which encouraged early donations by offering $200 to organizations receiving gifts between April 22nd and April 25th. This initiative saw organizations like Tresco Inc. and ACTion Programs for Animals benefiting from Coterra Energy’s generous support. 

In addition to promoting early and active participation, Coterra Energy acknowledged the efforts of organizations that garnered the highest number of unique donors. The Individual Impact Giving prize of $250 was awarded to the organization with the most individual donors, highlighting the importance of broad community support. Furthermore, the Peer-to-Peer Superstar prize, also sponsored by Coterra Energy, recognized organizations excelling in peer-to-peer fundraising, with Singing Out Las Cruces emerging as a standout performer. 

Southern New Mexico Giving Day 2024 was a resounding success. This year’s event saw impressive outcomes: 

  • $181,528 Raised
  • 907 Donors
  • 75 Organizations

Becca is the External Affairs Specialist at Coterra Energy. She coordinates many different community events across the Permian Basin.

Prior to her position at Coterra Energy, Becca worked as the Project Development Manager at the Education Partnership of the Permian Basin. She received a B.A. in International Relations, Spanish, and Political Science from Texas Tech University and a Master’s Degree in Applied Research Psychology from The University of Texas Permian Basin.
