In March of this year, Speaker Mike Turzai organized an event in southwestern Pennsylvania at the Pittsburgh Technical Institute campus to discuss the energy industry and local benefits in the region. The event hosted elected officials as speakers from companies, educational institutions and the public sector spoke of their experiences with the oil and natural gas industry and the economic sustainability thanks to its growth.
Here’s a sample of the media coverage of the event:

To follow the success of the event and to highlight the obvious – and not so obvious – ripple effects being felt across the Commonwealth, Speaker Turzai has organized a second event focusing on northeastern Pennsylvania. The event will be held at Keystone College on Thursday morning and feature panels on supply chain, natural gas fuels, manufacturing opportunities and workforce development.
The following email was sent from the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce – the event is free to attend but you MUST register in advance to be admitted. This is a great opportunity to show support for the industry while at the same time to hear from individuals with first-hand knowledge of just how the Marcellus Shale is an integral part of the economy.

Mike Turzai, Speaker
You are invited to be a part of the Speakers conference on growing Pennsylvania industries and business activity around and beyond the drilling of Marcellus Shale gas. The overall theme of this conference is how Pennsylvania – specifically the Northeast and North central regions – can take advantage of Natural Gas resources to build a thriving, diverse economy that will not only weather the ups and downs of commodity prices, but will last for generations to come.
The event will be held on the campus of the Keystone College, just west of the city of Scranton. Full details are below:
