I had the honor and privilege of representing Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation recently at the Southern Gas Association’s Conference in St. Louis, Missouri.  The SGA focuses on linking people, ideas and information from members of the natural gas industry. They seek ground-breaking ideas and smart practices that help their practices to be done safely and successfully. Each year The SGA recognizes and presents a small group with an award for Environmental Excellence.

They have three categories, Technology/Conservation Award, Stewardship Award and the Partnership Award. As you might have read on our blog, Cabot has worked diligently with the Dennis Farm.
Our unique partnership and collaboration was recognized by The SGA as an Industry leader and one that needs to be replicated nationwide. The SGA saw the value of cooperation, the reward of partnership and the long-term gain of the alliance and wanted to ensure other forward thinking companies were aware of our efforts.
The response from the attendees and leadership of The SGA was warm, genuine and thoughtful.  I felt humbled and honored to accept the award but more so I felt empowered to share our story, to educate others about the wonderful history of the Dennis Farm and to speak out about the value of industry working closely with its neighbors and community.

At Cabot we are focused on being a good community partner and are committed to corporate leadership. When given the opportunity, it is great to showcase partnerships and encourage others to follow our lead.
