Feeding Pennsylvania partners with the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association, American Dairy Association North East, the Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program, agriculture partners, and business leaders within Pennsylvania communities to serve nearly 2 million people annually. These programs bring fresh food through agencies and distribution programs. Milk has always been one of the most requested commodities by those in need, yet it is one of the least donated items. Fill a Glass with Hope was established to provide fresh milk to families across Pennsylvania.
In 2016, Cabot began working with Jane Clements-Smith, the Executive Director of Feeding Pennsylvania, to jumpstart the program in Susquehanna County. Cabot provided a $2,500 donation that would go to the Weinberg Northeast Regional Foodbank in order to bring milk to markets held at local schools. After three years, Cabot is still working closely with both organizations to bring these valuable resources to those in need.
At this year’s 104th Annual Pennsylvania Farm Show, Cabot stepped up even more for Fill a Glass of Hope. They contributed as a Keystone Sponsor and provided $25,000 to continue expanding the program’s success across Susquehanna County and beyond. Bill desRosiers, External Affairs Manager at Cabot, presented the donation at the Farm Show and also noted its importance to the county, as many community members, landowners, and Cabot employees are dairy farmers themselves. “We’re proud to partner with Jane and the Weinberg Food Bank to bring this program to Northeast Pennsylvania, and we’re delighted to be a champion sponsor this year,” desRosiers announced.
Cabot has now donated a total of $30,000 to Fill a Glass with Hope and plans to continue maintaining their dedication and support to the program. desRosiers comments, “We look forward to many more years partnering with this organization and seeing it grow further.”
