Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation was awarded 2014 Community Impact Award at Governor Tom Corbett’s ImPAct Awards in Hershey on Friday.
This is the second year that Cabot was a finalist for the Community Impact Award category which is given to the company that best embodies the motto, “doing well by doing good,” while also showing, “a sustained commitment to the growth and development of its employees and the communities in which it does business.”

Governor Corbett, the Department of Community & Economic Development and the Team Pennsylvania Foundation started the ImPAct Awards program to highlight companies who invest in Pennsylvania and job creation. This is the second year the ImPAct Awards have been held.
The award categories are Community Impact, Entrepreneur Impact, Export Impact, Jobs First, and Small Business Impact. Finalists for each award are broken up into regional categories which cover all of Pennsylvania – Central, Lehigh Valley, North Central, Northeast, Northern Tier, Northwest, South Central, Southeast, Southern Alleghenies, and Southwest.

Along with Cabot there are many other finalists who are involved in the growing Marcellus Shale supply chain. It’s great to see their commitment to the community where they live and work being recognized. An event like this highlights just how many industries are thriving across Pennsylvania. Just take a look at the finalist list for the variety of companies represented.
Many of the finalists include familiar companies around the Marcellus Shale supply chain or those who have seen the ripple effect: Larson Design Group, Sugar Hollow Water Services, BX3 Taylor Rental, Hawk Insurance Group, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, Five Star Field Services Appalachia and Diaz Companies, along with many others.
