Hello, everyone! My name is Tiffany, and I’m an ambitious 21-year-old from New Castle, Pennsylvania. As the new External Affairs Intern at Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation this spring, I am super excited to make my big debut and begin blogging for Well Said.
I am completely new to the oil and gas industry, so I am looking forward to learning the ropes and taking you all along this journey with me!
I am currently a senior studying at Robert Morris University. My concentration is in Applied-Journalism and I am pursuing a minor in Public Relations. I will be graduating this May with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication.
Although I am counting down the days until graduation (75 to be exact!), I know that it is going to be incredibly hard for me to part ways with RMU.
When I visited Kutztown University for the CAACURH Conference, I snapped a photo with their infamous mascot, the Golden Bear!
I am a die-hard Dr. Phil fan (Yes, I just said that!). With every episode I tune into, I learn a new life lesson that I can apply to my life in some way. My friends think I am an old person because I religiously watch the Dr. Phil show, but I just consider myself a young heart with an old soul!
Traveling is also a huge passion of mine! I had the opportunity to study abroad in Ireland, and it was an experience I will never forget. I kissed the Blarney Stone, hiked up the Cliffs of Mohr, and learned how to speak a little Gaelic! I also enjoy traveling to conferences. This year I ventured to Kutztown University for the annual CAACURH Conference and had a blast!
Up until my first year of college, I dreamed that someday I would become a television news anchor. But when I picked up public relations as my minor, I soon realized that PR and I were a match made in heaven. The parts of PR that I love the most are working with the community, event planning, and designing PR materials for events.
My main motivation in life is my family. My brother, Timmy, is my greatest inspiration. (Although he is 6’2 and only 17 years-old..I will forever and always be his big sister!). My dad is also someone who motivates me every single day. I consider him to be my best friend, my mentor, and someone who I can always turn to for advice.
Being involved on my campus is also something I have a passion for. I love learning, helping others, and meeting all sorts of new people! I am currently the risk-management coordinator for my sorority – Delta Phi Epsilon, president of the National Residence Hall Honorary, a community advisor, and I work in the Student Life Office at RMU.
I heard about Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation during my previous internship with the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce in Moon Township. When I researched more about Cabot, I thought that their external affairs department would be the perfect fit for me and a great way to gain more experience in an industry that I am not particularly familiar with.
It has only been my first week here at Cabot, and I already feel like I am part of the crew! I will admit that I have gotten lost in the building a few times (Okay, maybe more than a few!), but there has always been someone there to help me find my way.
During my time here at Cabot, I am looking forward to learning more about the natural gas industry, sharing Cabot’s mission with the community, and living up to the stellar work done by previous interns in the office. I know I have some BIG shoes to fill…but I’m up for the challenge!
