The U.S has officially become the world’s leading energy producer, producing more natural gas than Russia for the first time since 1982. In 2013 alone, more than a quarter of the nation’s energy was generated by natural gas, and that number is only increasing by the day.
The Wall Street Journal reported,

“There is a startling shift that is reshaping markets and eroding the clout of traditional energy-rich nations.”

When we turn on a light or plug in our technological devices, we don’t think about where the energy comes from, just as long as it’s there.
In 2013, 26% of our power was generated by natural gas. It is estimated that natural gas will make up 63% of new capacity additions through 2040. Natural gas is the most efficient and least expensive power generation to build today.
One in five transit buses in this country run on natural gas. This means communities are improving their air quality and their saving taxpayer dollars by having more affordable gas.  Plus, it is creating a cleaner environment for us to live in. Research shows that carbon emissions have dropped to their lowest levels since 1994 due to the rising use of natural gas.
Cabot, along with other America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) companies, is leading by example and pioneering its operations across the nation with a cleaner, more affordable, domestic fuel alternative. Cabot currently has three drilling rigs and 60 vehicles operating on natural gas, which is saving thousands of gallons of diesel consumption in our operations alone.
Don’t be in the dark about your energy. Take a look at this infographic, brought to you by ANGA, to see how natural gas is powering our nation:
