Yesterday, we featured a video from last year’s Cabot Community Picnic. In the video, you saw crowds enjoying free food prepared by Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation and our vendors, community children playing games and thousands of people interacting with Cabot employees, non-profit organizations and countless industry vendors and contractors. As we’ve said before, the goal of the Picnic is to educate the Susquehanna community, as well as people who travel from surrounding states to attend the event, about everything involved in drilling a well – from start to finish. This year, we’ll have representatives from every step of that journey present, including our geologists, our land experts, our engineers and contractors and vendors who drill, frac and take the natural gas to market. Each section of the picnic – from Cabot booths to industry exhibitors – will showcase equipment or demonstrate techniques that we use daily to produce clean-burning, domestic natural gas. Here’s an inside look at all of the companies and organizations that will be in attendance:Diaz CompaniesWeir SeaboardRW Products LLCWilliamsSomerset Regional Water ResourcesEnergy InDepthGasSearch DrillingPennsy SupplyCased Hole SolutionsRain for RentAlly Equipment LLCComtech Industries Inc.Masters Ready Mixed ConcreteLinde CorporationLeatherstocking Gas CompanySmith & Solomon Driver TrainingTranscoErick Flowback ServicesCameron WeldingSelman & AssociatesTS Calkins & AssociatesHalliburtonWeatherfordSugar Hollow Water ServicesTrue Friends Animal Welfare CenterSusquehanna Co. Upon entering the Picnic this year, each person will receive a “Passport to Fun,” which serves as both a map of the fairgrounds and as an interactive activity for all in attendance. We have always encouraged our Picnic guests to ask questions and interact at each booth they visit, but this year we’re offering incentives for those who come to learn.Upon visiting each booth, visitors can show their Passports and receive a stamp for the booth they visited. If visitors collect stamps from all eight Cabot booths and any three community partner booths and three industry partner booths, they are welcomed to fill out the Passport Entry Form located at the bottom of the Passport. Once completed, visitors should detach the Entry Form and drop it off at the Arena Stage.Once each hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a winner will be selected from the drop box to win prizes such as gift baskets, an iPad or a large flat-screen television. Other festivities include a live radio broadcast from Froggy 101 and various raffles and contests held by our community partner booths. In another new addition to this year’s Picnic, we invite you to send us your photographs from the Picnic for a chance to be featured on our blog and Twitter. We want to see you and your family interacting with industry experts, enjoying our free food or playing games and having fun in the children’s section. Send photographs with names and contact information to cabotsusquehanna@gmail.com.Read our past posts about the picnic here and here. If you’ve attended the Picnic in past years, or if you’re excited for your first Cabot Community Picnic experience this weekend, comment on this post or tweet to us.
