You’ve heard it before: the natural gas industry is helping to boost the economy through creating jobs and providing a good living to people across Pennsylvania.And now with Act 13 in effect, the communities across the Commonwealth are about to see an even more direct impact. It was recently announced that revenue from Act 13 (or the Impact Fee) collected from the natural gas industry totaled $204 million dollars collected for 2011. So what happens with all of that money now?In all, 60% will go to counties and local municipalities while the rest will be distributed to a Legacy Fund which will be used to fund a variety of statewide programs. We break it down further here:And this is all in addition to the investments that have already been made around northeastern Pennsylvania and beyond. Cabot has given over $3.1 million to worthy local causes since 2010 – including the new hospital project for Endless Mountains Health Systems, countless community events and numerous fundraisers.We live and work here and are proud to continue to make investments in the community that we call home.
