Just last week the Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) released a video highlighting the Shale Impact Fee benefits that are being seen across Pennsylvania.

As we’ve highlighted before, the Impact Fee – also sometimes referred to as Act 13 – is a rule that requires natural gas producers, like Cabot, to pay a set amount of money for each well drilled in Pennsylvania. You can get more information on the Public Utilities Commission website on how funds are collected and distributed to every county in Pennsylvania.

Bottom line – the dollars collected since Act 13 went into effect total $630 million in just three years. And that’s on top of the billions of dollars the industry pays in shale-related government taxes.

That’s just what the MSC video explains, including a county-by-county breakdown of where the funds were distributed and some examples of projects. Watch below or click here to head to the MSC’s YouTube channel.
